Rovinj: Part 1

Ahhh relaxation! Love Rovinj!! It's a cute vacation town with lots of food, beautiful sunsets and rocky beaches. Here are some pictures from our first couple days.
Old Town Rovinj
St. Euphemia Church
Adriatic Sea
The beach!
Quaint streets of old town
The view from our apartment looking out to the Adriatic

View of the front street
A little cafe/wine bar on our street
Found this cat taking a nap outside our window.  I named him Figaro
I cracked the window and then he wanted to come in...
Bryan wouldn't let me let him in...

Dinner -- not at any place special but our food was good.  Grilled calamari and Lasagna
Found a wine bar we love! All local Croatian wine; all fabulous!
Walkway up to the street where our apt is
Inside the church
About to climb the bell tower-- had to overcome my unrational fear of open stairs.
On our way up

Second sunset
Awesome dinner by the marina -- this is a  local Sheep cheese with tomatoes and proscuitto to start
First course -- Shrimp Cocktail -- in the glass is little bay shrimp in a creamy sauce.  Very good! Bryan has salted anchovies.
Main Course -- steak and homemade pasta with mushroom sauce
Big festival this weekebd called Rovinj Night -- multiple bands and fireworks at midnight -- this was the first band which covered American music like Soul Man
Second band was Parni Valjak -- guess they are a big rock band from the late 70's and 80's --- everyone (that was Croatian) was singing along.  We couldn't understand a thing ;-)
Crazy!!! We ran into 2 of Bryan's coworkers that now live in the Netherlands!  Fun to catch up quick.
Midnight fireworks!
Our apt for the week
Finishing the night at the cafe outside our apt
Beach day!
Bryan swimming in the sea
This dog loved to swim!
Even crazier-- his ower would throw this big white rock and the dog would dive to the bottom and fetch it!

Plenty of more pictures to come as we try out more beaches :-)
